The name Caiacana (Kye-ya-Caana) is inspired by the Tupí-Guaraní language of the indigenous people of Brazil. Caiacanga means "octopus." Removing the G gives us cana for "sugarcane.
We wanted a bottle that was sturdy and substantial, insuring it will hold up on angry seas.
We focused closely on the viscosity and hammered look of hand blown glass, the height of its neck, the curve of its shoulders, the slight taper of its body, and the traditional push-up feature in its base.
The push-up became Sugarloaf - Pão de Açúcar, the highly recognizable rock feature that juts from Rio de Janeiro’s Guanabara Bay.
After 15 bottle producers, and eight countries, we finally discovered a way to build the bottle worthy of holding this noble spirit.
The signature Caiacana bottle is the standard size of 750 milliliters, yet it is more noticeable due to its larger size allowing room for Sugarloaf.

Each bottle is made by hand from recycled glass.
