“She is part of the system of life and dreams; it's the blood of the Earth, that the Brazilian brings into his own blood.”

- Ruban Braga, Cachaça is also ours

Caiacana was discovered along the remnants of a cobblestone trail, uncoiling over the complex terrains and baroque ruins of a bygone society. Once a major trade route during the epoch of colonial Brazil, this Estrada Real (Royal Road) bore great mule caravans (tropas) towing the weight of gold, precious stones, coffee, and sugar.

Now, under the veil of tropical vegetation, this trail evokes the memories of thoes who blazed it: adventurers, settlers, hunters of fortune and pursuers of fame. They followed it into the mystery and promise of an unknown world.

Caiacana is the spirit of these descendants.
